Blinded by the Light (2019) 12A

1h 58min, Comedy, Drama, Music.

In 1987, Luton England, An Asian teenager learns to live his life, understand his family and find his own voice through the music Rock star Bruce Springsteen.

Stars: Billy Barratt, Ronak Singh Chadha Berges, Viveik Kalra

The film possibly suffers from being slightly too long.

Set in 1987 there is a small political element to the film amidst the trial and tribulations of Asians in late 80's Britain, but thankfully the film does not get too bogged down in the rights and wrongs of the time.

My favourite scenes are the small singing dance routine sections in the movie and the best thing I can say is it's a nice watch.

Elements of films like "Billy Elliott" and "East Is East"

May appeal more to those who lived through the 80's but should be of interest to modern audiences and obviously fans of "The Boss".

It is based on a true story which helps a lot. A fun, nice watch.

MGN Rating 6.5/10

(This Movie should appeal if you enjoyed, "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging 2008" "Hunky Dory 2011" "East Is East 1999")
