His past and his friendship with the sheriff land them both in trouble.Director: Charles Vidor. This was Columbia Pictures first Technicolour Movie. This is the film on which Budd Boetticher (then an assistant director) met Randolph Scott and Harry Joe Brown. More than a decade later the trio would team up for the famous "Ranown" series of westerns, such as The Tall T (1957) and Ride Lonesome (1959).

This was a B movie western but what allows it to rise to a good standard are the leads, Scott, Ford and Trevor. Also unusual for a B movie was it was in colour which also helps.
